DESCRIPTION:In response to the persistent police violence against Black communities\, 1 Million Madly Motivated Moms (1M4)\, Right To Be (formerly Hollaback!)\, and ANJEL Tech have joined forces to offer free training Bystander Intervention: How to Safely Intervene and Respond in the face of Anti-Black-Police sponsored Violence \nThe 75-minute\, interactive training will train people on how to safely intervene and respond in the face of anti-Black police-sponsored violence and interact with guest speakers who are impacting the fight against police brutality. The training will focus on three of the 5Ds of bystander intervention: delegate\, document\, and delay. We’ll begin by reflecting on what anti-Black police-sponsored violence looks like and why it repeatedly exists. We’ll talk about the types of violence and racism Black people are facing right now — from examples of microaggressions to murder. We’ll also talk about how anti-Black racism is so ingrained into the fabric of our society that we see it present in all forms\, from everyday tasks or activities to larger societal institutions. Then\, discuss the deep impact harassment\, violence\, and the constant threat of violence has on Black communities.\nYou’ll learn what to look for and the positive impact that bystander intervention has on individuals and communities. The training will conclude with a practice and questions and answers section.

DESCRIPTION:This photo of Dr. King has been a favorite of mine for years. \nAnd the longer I work in community organizing and social justice… the more often I make this exact face. \nThere is a lot happening around us. A LOT. \nThings that ultimately impact each of us and I don’t like the direction we’re headed. (honestly\, it’s been this way for a long time; it’s just now very much in our faces 24/7) \nSo\, the women of 1M4 are committed to doing our part to stop the harm aimed at the Black community. \nHere’s how you can help: \nFirst\, we have to prove that the work we have done thus far is valuable and helping to save lives. \nHere’s what we need from you:\n1) If you have used or shared our National Mobile Crisis Guide for non-police mental health emergency response\, reply to this message and let us know how the guide was helpful . Provide a brief story about your experience with the response team. We will not share your name publicly. We are working to determine the usefulness and reach of the guide so we can improve it and reach more people. \nWe would love to hear your stories and experiences after using the guide. \n2) If you are\, or know\, a Black woman looking for community to share openly and transparently\, tomorrow night we will host our Sista Checkin. \nNo need to register in advance. Just show up. Come as you are and prepare to be in space with like minded\, solution focused\, care centered Black women across the country.  \nThis is a great time to meet some of the members of 1M4 and just be fully yourself with people who “get it.” \nJoin our email list to get call in details for the checkin starting at 9pm EST/ 8pm CST/ 6pm PST
