Meet the Founder
Founder & CEO
Tansy McNulty
I am a creative thinker who has helped solve incredibly complex business problems for major corporations — saving them time and money by accurately getting to the problem’s root cause and proposing creative solutions to ensure the eradication of the problem.
Once I touch it, it does not return.
I’ve turned my energy toward
ending police violence in America
for three reasons: my husband and my two sons
My husband is a decorated member of the United States Armed Forces whose favorite outfit happens to be a hoodie and sweatpants.
I’ll never forget a night out in NYC in early 2013 with my now husband, before we were married. We couldn’t find an entrance to the subway and my companion, with his brown skin and optimistic resolve, was about to knock on the window of an NYPD SUV parked nearby.
In my anxiety, nurtured by the faint heartbeat of hate that is constant in our history, I screamed at him hoping to stop him mid-knock. I could hardly believe that this Black man thought knocking on a police officer’s window at 9:30 pm in New York City was a good idea.
I DO THIS WORK FOR MY THREE:
DEDRIAN, DG, & MALACHI.
This was before Eric Garner, Laquan McDonald, Sandra Bland, Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, Jamarion Robinson, Terence Crutcher… Pamela Turner, Byron Williams, Atatiana Jefferson… and so many more…
The unfortunate truth is that police violence is wreaking havoc on the health and well-being of Americans like me and my family. I refuse to live in constant fear or rage and I knew I had to do something to change the outlook for the future of my sons.
I’m organizing 1M4 to provide both community and financial support for potential victims of these crimes. Despite the very important work that they do, I never desire to be a member of the “Mothers of the Movement” and hope no additional members are added. The loss these moms have endured is immeasurable. My prayer is that they are able to grieve, rest and be granted a measure of accountability. Since none of us know if our family or children will be victimized in this way, we continue to work to prevent the unthinkable from continuing to happen.
And for the sons, daughters, and partners of my Sorors, sisters, and friends. For Jamar Clark, Samuel Dubose, Dontre Hamilton, Akai Gurley, Keith Lamont Scott, Christian Taylor, and Ronnie Shumpert.
THERE IS WORK TO DO LADIES.
LET’S GET IT DONE.
