What’s On Your Back-To-School List?

For us, we’ve got more than just your typical pens and pencils on the list..

We’ve got:

✅ Pandemic Worry

✅ New School Environments

✅ Political Climates of The Classroom (aka where do these teachers stand?)

✅ World Problems (aka exposing our kids to a world not currently meant for them)

In light of this, we’ll be dedicating this Sista Check-In call to discussing the Back To School Season and what boundaries we can implement to not only make these transitions easier for our kids and families but also for our own mental health as we navigate this season with the strength, faith, and perseverance in ways only the Black woman knows how to do.

Because while it’s normal for parents, in general, to experience some anxiety and nerves over sending our children to school (whether for the first time or not), we all know that that basket of anxiety and nerves is a lot different for Black families and Black children.

That basket is a whole lot heavier.
