We hope your Thanksgiving was filled with good food, laughter, and some time to rest.

As we head into Giving Tuesday, we’re carrying that same spirit of gratitude into action.

This season, we’re inviting our Village to give to Home for the Holidays—our campaign raising awareness around The Right Response, a national directory connecting people in crisis with trained responders instead of law enforcement.

Please share our directory with your loved ones and network.  Because too often, our call for help is met with punishment instead of care.

Your support and donations help us change that by expanding our reach, strengthening our resources, and ensuring families across the country know there’s another way forward during a mental health crisis.

A great lesson is find your joy and hold onto it. Don’t let anybody take it away from you.

CareFest 2025

This month 1M4 travelled to New York to attend CareFest 2025, a space created for caregivers to collaborate, convene, and care for one another. It was an amazingly restorative space where our Founder, Tansy, connected with attendees in the entertainment industry. 1M4 is developing a television series to be pitched to major production and streaming companies that will show viewers the importance of The Right Response to mental health crises. You read that right. 1M4 is creating a television series!

Interested in helping us bring it fruition? Simply reply to this email saying “Let’s do this!” and we will reach out for next steps.

Your Expertise is Needed!

We’re completely revamping The Right Response Directory and need your input to ensure it meets our community’s needs.

This critical resource connects you to alternative first-response programs offering compassionate support through peer responders, clinicians, and trained EMTs for calls like welfare checks, noise complaints, traffic incidents, and mental health crises.

Your feedback is vital for us to improve. Please take a few minutes to complete our confidential survey. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

A Mental Health Tip For You

Science shows that giving activates the same pleasure centers in your brain as joy or laughter.

So this week, here are some ways to give back:

Share a resource (like our directory)

Volunteer at a local food kitchen or community organization

Leave a nice note for a stranger

Give someone a genuine compliment

Get yourself a treat because you deserve it!

A Mental Health Tip For You!

Spread Some Blessings!

The consequences of police violence extend far beyond the loss of life. For families affected, it’s the loss of income, the sacrifice of basic necessities, and the start of a high-cost legal fight. If you have the capacity, consider donating to 1M4. Proceeds help support impacted families and sustain the work of 1M4 toward ending police violence for good.

Can you believe we’re already at the end of November?! As we head into the last month of 2025, the pace picks up. More gatherings, more giving, more to do.

But before the holiday rush sweeps you away, take a breath. You’ve carried a lot this year for your family, community, and people. And you deserve to rest, too.

Through our Home for the Holidays campaign, we’re reminding the Village that giving back also means protecting the Village by spreading awareness of The Right Response, donating to sustain our work, and making sure everyone gets home safely this season.

When you pour into others, don’t forget to pour into yourself. The world asks a lot of us as  Black women (and those who love us), but we move further when we move nourished, grounded, and whole.
