So…looks like the rapture didn’t happen after all…

But if you scroll through social media or watch the news, you might swear it did. The days are getting shorter, the nights darker, and the world still feels chaotic, but that’s exactly why we need to keep our lights bright and our shields up.

As we kick off October, our mission stays bold: 4,000 new members by the end of the year.

That means 4,000 more families covered with the knowledge and tools to stay safe—and resources like The Right Response and our Sista Check-Ins.

We’ve also added a new way to stay connected: Tuesdays with Tansy. Every Tuesday, from now through year’s end, our wonderful 1M4 Founder will go live inside our Mighty Network community to answer questions and make sure you have access to our safety and wellness tools. In addition to giving you real time insights into the operations (and connections) of 1M4. Join us Tuesday at noon EST by simply signing up through the button below.

Our village needs you. Join us, spread the word, and help us reach 4,000.

Post of the Week

Can one person really make a difference?

.This week, we’re reminding you that, yes, you are powerful enough to make a difference. One shield raised can protect an entire community. Every new member who joins 1M4 brings more strength, safety, and love into our circle.

Take a moment to read, reflect, and share the post with someone you care about. Together, we can keep shielding the village.

Your Expertise is Needed!

We’re completely revamping The Right Response Directory and need your input to ensure it meets our community’s needs.

This critical resource connects you to alternative first-response programs offering compassionate support through peer responders, clinicians, and trained EMTs for calls like welfare checks, noise complaints, traffic incidents, and mental health crises.

Your feedback is vital for us to improve. Please take a few minutes to complete our confidential survey. Thank you for sharing your thoughts!

A Mental Health Tip For You

Sis, that catch-up is long overdue! Today or this upcoming week, take a few minutes to connect with a friend or loved one that you haven’t heard from in a while.

In a short call, text, or voice note, make sure you’re asking meaningful and thoughtful questions that make them feel seen and heard, like:

  • How are you really feeling today?

  • What’s been bringing you joy lately?

  • Is there a way I can support you this week?

  • What’s one thing you’re proud of this week?

Even a few minutes of honest conversation can strengthen your bond, lift your mood, and create a circle of care for both of you.

A Mental Health Tip For You!

Spread Some Blessings!

The consequences of police violence extend far beyond the loss of life. For families affected, it’s the loss of income, the sacrifice of basic necessities, and the start of a high-cost legal fight. If you have the capacity, consider donating to 1M4. Proceeds help support impacted families and sustain the work of 1M4 toward ending police violence for good.

It really does take a village, Sis. And that includes taking care of you.

This is a good time to pause and reflect on our mental health and well-being. Taking care of ourselves doesn’t mean stepping back from action. It means arming ourselves with the clarity, strength, and resilience to continue protecting our communities and loved ones.

Let’s commit to both self-care and collective care, staying grounded while still standing up, speaking out, and shielding the village.

October 22 is the National Day of Protest to Stop Police Brutality

October 22 is the National Day of Protest to Stop Police Brutality, organized by the October 22 Coalition. Since 1996, this day has brought people together—those directly impacted by police violence and those standing in solidarity—to resist brutality, mass incarceration, and political repression. As we face rising white supremacy and authoritarian threats, the Coalition continues building a nationwide network of protest and actions we can all take to strengthen our collective resistance. Watch the video above to see 1M4 and others in action, fighting for justice and community protection.
